Ford quality shines bright in J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Initial Quality Study
Three Ford vehicles took highest honors in the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 Initial Quality Study.*
- Ford Focus, “Highest Initial Quality among Compact Cars.”
- Ford Mustang, “Highest Initial Quality among Mid-size Sporty Cars.”
- Ford Taurus, “Highest Initial Quality among Large Cars.”
Every year, thousands of new vehicle owners respond to J.D. Powers and Associates surveys that gather information on mechanical and design quality issues over the first three months of ownership. Study results are tabulated using a “problems per 100 vehicles” standard. The lower the number reported, the higher the quality rating.

For the second year in a row, Ford Flex named an All-Star by AUTOMOBILE Magazine.
The AUTOMOBILE Magazine All-Stars are chosen by the AUTOMOBILE Magazine staff, worldwide bureau chiefs and contributors. The award is based on design, value and performance, driving enjoyment and the vehicle's ability to redefine an existing category or create a new market segment.
AUTOMOBILE Magazine, said, "The Flex is unique in a market brimming with compromised, look-alike utility vehicles..."
Flex is not the only Ford vehicle to win an All-Stars award from AUTOMOBILE Magazine. The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid was also a winner. The magazine was impressed that this hybrid does not drive like a hybrid.
According to AUTOMOBILE Magazine, "The Fusion Hybrid is not a performance machine, but neither does it feel hobbled or inadequate for daily driving. Perhaps the best thing about it is that, apart from the LCD color screens, you might never know you're driving a hybrid."
